driving lessons in CoventryWhy choose automatic lessons
Automatic lessons remove gear changes and clutch control from the learning process, which lets you spend more of each lesson on the skills assessed in the driving test, such as observation, steering and road position. Some learners reach test standard sooner this way because they have fewer actions to coordinate at once. An automatic car can be a calmer place to start for anyone who has found the clutch stressful in a manual.
Automatic vs manual — which should I choose?
You want a simpler route to your licence, because there is no clutch or gearstick to operate. An automatic licence lets you drive automatic cars.
You need to drive manual vehicles for work or want the freedom to drive either type, because an automatic licence does not let you drive a manual car.
Both routes lead to a full driving licence; the difference is what you are allowed to drive afterwards. Learners who would prefer a female instructor can request one.
Our automatic cars
Once automatic is the right choice for you, the next thing that shapes your lessons is the car you learn in. You learn in one of our dual-control automatic cars — each carries a second set of pedals so your instructor can step in if needed, letting you practise new manoeuvres with that support as you build confidence. Our fleet is kept in lesson-ready condition.

Frequently asked questions
Are automatic driving lessons easier than manual?
Automatic lessons are simpler to start because there is no clutch or gear changing to learn. That leaves more of each lesson for steering, observation and road position.
How much do automatic driving lessons in Coventry cost?
Automatic driving lessons in Coventry start from £37 per hour. Block bookings are available, and the exact price can vary by postcode.
What car will I learn in?
You learn in a dual-control automatic car. Our fleet is a 2023 Audi A3 and a 2019 Toyota Yaris.
Can I switch to manual later?
